As the title suggests, Eric Durán’s book is both introductory and multi-faceted, and teaches about Mexican culture from the inside out, lessons Durán learned while working with his father (the Joaquín of the title) on both sides of the Mexican/U.S. border.  This practical book provides a window in to a culture we Americans may think we know, and simultaneously teaches the importance of learning Spanish today and how learning key words can convey cultural understanding.  Bellingham resident, Eric Durán, offers Spanish classes to all levels of learners through his 12-hour course based on the book.

Every Tuesday in August, Village Books will celebrate the breadth of expertise in area by offering our “Locals in the Know” series.  This diverse showcase is but a sampling of the expansive knowledge our neighbors possess, and is sure to spark some engaging summer conversations.

Village Books is pleased to carry Eric Duran's book. Please call the store for information: 360-671-2626.
